The Charter Boat

Fishing Fever Charters is very excited about the purchase of new 2005 Lund Baron Magnum. I chose this boat due to the safety and long standing reputation of the Lund Boat Company. Lund has redesigned this model for 2005. This powerful Baron Magnum was specifically designed for comfort and fishing the Great Lakes. The deep, roomy aft will keep you drier and more secure. The boat also has a cruiser top set (canopy) for added comfort to keep you out of the elements for a relaxing day of fishing. It also has a porta-potti on board for your convenience. The boat is 22 feet long with a massive 100-inch beam for stability and comfort.

I have powered this boat with two 4-stroke outboard engines from Mercury Marine. The main engine is the 225 hp newly designed Mercury Verado. The super charged, intercooled Mercury Verado Four Stroke is not simply a new boat engine, it's a powerhouse that outperforms every other engine on the water. It is the strongest, quietest, fastest, and most reliable four stroke outboard ever built. The kicker engine or sometimes called the trolling motor is also a new designed engine from Mercury. It's a Mercury 9.9, 4-stroke Pro-Kicker. The Pro-Kicker was designed for the professional fisherman, hence the name. While trolling, this engine will only be a whisper at the back of the boat, which adds to your comfort on the charter.

One of the latest additions to this boat are the electronics. I have choosen JRC for long standing history of durability and accuracy. These units are commercial grade, they are used on the largest of vessels around the world. I chose the FF50 for the sonar unit and the 1800 CP for the radar and GPS chart plotter. These units are very precise to ensure we catch more fish and return home for a safe fishing trip.

I have installed four electric Scotty Downriggers to the boat. I chose Scotty for my downriggers for the reasons of ease of use and durability. These downriggers have booms that extend from 30" to 60". This ensures a wide spread of the downriggers which in turn means covering a larger area of water for greater fish catching and less fouling of the cables. Scotty also has one of the fastest ball retrieval rates, this means we get the fishing lure back in the water quicker.

Tite -Lok Rod holders have also been installed. I have chose the Tite-Lok Track System. With this system we can chose many different options and locations for our rod holders to optimize the rod location. The 5710 Multi -Lok Rod Holder with the Professional Pull Pin will serve as Dipsy Rod Holder and Planer Board Rod Holder.Tite-Loks 5610 Rod Holder are also installed on this track system. This rod holder has a unique open design that allows fast rod removal when that trophy is on the other end.

We will load this boat with all the latest and greatest fishing equipment to insure a great trip. As I rig the boat this winter, I will update this page with the equipment I install.
