Fishing Fever Charters offers local trolling trips from the Upper Harbor in Marquette. These trips offer the chance to catch lake trout, salmon, steelhead, and splake. Lake trout are the primary fish, but while fishing, we also hook into salmon (coho and king), steelhead, and splake. Steelhead is a very exciting trout to catch, they jump out of the water many times when hooked. Splake are also caught often. Splake are a hybrid, which is a cross between a lake trout and a brook trout.

Lake Superior is the largest, deepest, and coldest of the Great Lakes. When fishing, we use downriggers, Dipsy Divers, and planerboards to vary the depths of the lures in the water column. The lures that I use are spoons, Dodger-fly combination, and also some crankbaits to target the fish that are just under the surface. I use these different tactics to target different species of fish in the water column.

Fishing a local trolling trip out of Marquette offers a lot of exciting action. Not only is the fishing some of the best in the U. P. (Upper Peninsula of Michigan), there is also some very scenic lake shore and islands to take in while fishing.

The lake trout in Lake Superior are sometimes called leans or Red Fins. They are a good eating fish with a orange to red meat. With my charter service, I also provide fish cleaning. The fish are filleted and packaged at no extra charge, its part of the service.
