What's more important than "how big a null you can get when reversing the polarity" is looking at how the drivers' phase lines up between the drivers around the crossover point. A good rule of thumb is to shoot for at least an octave of phase tracking around the crossover point (this applies to in-phase crossovers like Linkwitz-Riley only. 8kHz and used a simpler filter than you are using, and got excellent phase tracking in my speaker. Since the drivers are offset from each other, it usually works best to have asymmetrical slopes - just a tip. If you're not happy just tweak a little to zero it in on your target.
