I took the pump cover off so I could change the pump seals. I eliminated all of the possabilities-docked the head, cylinder, new gaskets, new radiators. my shaft has a very small amount of play in it. new bearings or what. the threads on the shaft were fine though.

I dont think I have ever seen a person use a torque wrench for water pump bolts, but as basic as the job is I think anyone that can handle this job would have judgement enough to not overtighten the bolts, it would be hard to complete the job and... I dont think I ever saw a spec that stated to use a sealer on the threads, and I usually do when a bolt goes through a water jacket. you can go by that, I usually use whatever torque a 3/8" air ratchet gives haha. 8" eaton e locker, 231 w/ novak shifter, kevin's sliders, front bumper, rad support and steering brace, anti-rock front, iceland offroad flares, hughes engines f1 intake, hr 1.
