Sea Glass - what to look for

Sea glass summers
There, in the wet sand where the waters had run its course not a half-hour earlier, was a big, dull, blue chunk of sea glass. With a heavy backpack filled with the day’s fishing gear, two 10-foot surf rods in one hand and a small cooler of bait in the other and a lawn chair draped around my neck, I considered what would have to go first (the backpack) if the waters... a good three hours before that low-tide mark and, at that time, the brook’s waters are nearly chest-deep and the current swift. About halfway across the brook, the current is strong and I struggled to keep my balance. The little brook is shallow and harmless at dead-low tide. With sunrise still 10 minutes away, I stepped into the cold waters, barefoot and in shorts. How to make sea glass - Boing Boing
My wife, my kids, and I enjoy hunting for sea glass on the beach . Spotting a colorful bit of sand-polished glass provides the same kind of mini-thrill I got when I used to fish for trout as a kid in Colorado. I don't think it would be much fun to make my own sea glass, because the rarity of the glass is what makes it a joy to collect. But Rich Faulhaber at Evil Mad Scientist Laboratories wanted to make a pathway out of sea glass, and having to collect it bit by bit on the beach would have been completely impractical. All you need is some glass, some sand, sea water and some way of mimicking the ocean and (bam. ) you get sea glass....
Crescent Moon with a Twist of Seaglass, Vintage Mosaic Necklace ...
I started out with a client's crescent moon piece, added sea glass in pink and aqua, a quartz crystal bead and the sliver of stained glass in lime green.  What makes this piece interesting to me is the cage of silver art wire that resembles waves crashing over the seaglass pieces, mixed with the thick 18 gauge gold art wire which I looped in & around the pendant. This is one of those art jewelry creations that took on its own life with a mix of very different elements that happen to look nice when combined.  The very simple act of adding a vintage silver hoop as a center backing and the large silver coiled split links provided additional intrigue.  So there ends up being a good deal of action in this once-lonely, but smiling moon. Please share your thoughts on this piece.
